Are you always in your head?

  • Do you forget to eat and not realize it?
  • Are you often tired, but you are wide awake once you have lied down?
  • Do you feel overwhelmed, and it’s hard to focus on the task at hand?

Yup, you are probably in your head, and it’s time to get into your Body!

When you drop into your Body, you ground in your choices. You come from a place of intuition instead of anxiety.

If you are mountain bike riding, 🚵,‍ you want to be present to make moment-to-moment decisions that affect your well-being and maybe even your life.

If you ride with fear, what happens?

Your hands are gripped tight to the handlebars, your breath becomes shallow, or maybe you are not even taking a breath.

How does this affect the ride?

It leads to doubt and the wrong crucial decisions.

When we embody our thoughts and create decisions from Mind-Body, our Minds can pull out the valuable skills, and our Body is focused and on the same page embodying the skills and moving in the flow.

This doesn’t mean you will never fall or make the wrong choice, but with the Mind focused and the Body on the same page, it is the best possible chance of your personal best ride.

If you are only in your head, you may notice other thoughts creeping in… go around this rock, and I need to get some spinach; I can’t forget…boom, crash, didn’t see that coming.

You need both to embody the intellect behind your skill.

Breath is a direct way to drop out of your Mind and into your Body. The quality of your breath is an excellent indicator of your Mind’s state. So, take a moment and observe your breath.
