Is your life so busy you feel as though you can’t take a full breath? It could be time to stop and take a breather. You deserve this moment of rest, and it could help save your health.
Slow down and take a brief pause to breathe. Inhale deeply through your nose and let your belly rise. Hold for 3 seconds, then exhale out through the mouth, as your belly pulls in and your lips softly open. Repeat 3-5 rounds.
When you breathe deeply, the air coming in through your nose fully fills your lungs and you will notice that your lower belly rises. This practice increases oxygen, slows your heart rate and can lower or stabilize blood pressure. Taking some deep breaths allows you to tap into one of your body’s strongest self-healing mechanisms.
It’s that easy! Just this short and simple breathing practice can make a huge difference throughout your day and help to alleviate any excess stress.
