What’s wind got to do with it? 💨

We are all interconnected with nature and the environment in which we live. In Ayurveda, we often reflect on the influence of nature and our environment, both mentally and physically. 🌿 👩🏻💻
Your body will consistently find ways to adapt and change along with the environment. This adaptation includes both the outer environment and the internal environment, your thoughts, emotions, and nutrition.
As we head into the fall season, it gets cooler, and the wind begins to pick up. We pick up the extra wind or movement inside of us, and if we already have excess movement in our body, it can lead to irregular digestion (think air/gas) and appetite; excess dry and wind can show up as a migraine or weakened immunity, 💨 🍃
In our mind, we may oscillate like the wind, manifesting as worry, feeling ungrounded, spacey, unsettled, restless, and jumpy, have an overactive mind, start overthinking more, and have a change in mood and feelings. 😫
These imbalances correspond to the elements of ether and air, which are the most prominent in the fall season. To maintain overall health and vitality during this time, you want to balance these elements with the opposite elements of water and earth, which are hydrating and grounding.
